15 Westbrook Forest Lodge is a fully furnished self-catering simplex located in a secure complex in the quaint seaside town of Westbrook near Ballito. The complex is set in a sub-tropical coastal forest, a short walk from a Blue Flag beach, and an easy drive to the shops, malls and restaurants in Ballito and Umhlanga. Fall asleep to the sound of the sea and wake to the song of birds.
The simplex can accommodate up to 5 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and an open-plan lounge and dining area. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath big enough for 2. This room overlooks the forest. The second bedroom contains a double bed. The third bedroom contains double bed. The third bedroom contains a single bed. The second bathroom contains a shower.
The modern kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with an oven and hob, fridge, microwave oven and washing machine. The dining area contains a 4-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge features a flat-screen TV with full DStv. The living area opens to a large, tiled verandah with a weber braai. The verandah looks directly onto a forest that is home to a variety of indigenous birds. It’s also an occasional resting spot for the local troop of vervet monkeys. Unaccustomed to aggression, they’re very polite and are a delight to watch. There is an undercover parking for 1 car and parking for 2 in the driveway.
The Westbook Forest lodge complex offers a communal swimming pool, ideal for cooling down after a hot day at the beach. Access to this secure complex is via remote controlled gates.
Westbrook is a quiet, forested residential area with one shop providing basic goods and a good restaurant on the beachfront. The beach has Blue Flag status. Beach Bums restaurant and backpackers is nearby, right on Desainagar Beach, and offers meals, cocktails and live music on Sundays.
